James "J.D." Morrison is a seasoned overlander, adventurer, and writer who has spent more than a decade exploring the vast and diverse landscapes of Africa. Born and raised in the foothills of the Drakensberg Mountains in South Africa, J.D. grew up with a passion for the outdoors and a deep curiosity for the road less travelled.

J.D. has completed multiple overland expeditions across the African continent, covering more than 100,000 kilometers, from the dusty roads of the Sahara to the dense rainforests of Central Africa. His adventures have taken him through over 30 African countries, giving him firsthand experience in dealing with the unique challenges and rewards of overland travel in this stunning yet unpredictable part of the world.

With a background in mechanical engineering and a love for self-sufficiency, J.D. has a reputation for problem-solving in the most remote and challenging environments. He is passionate about sharing his knowledge with fellow adventurers and empowering others to explore Africa independently, responsibly, and with confidence.
